*Louise's 50's dress + target heels

My high school career will be officially over in one week, so that either means more blogging or zero blogging, we'll see.

sting of neglect

Haven't posted in a while, lo siento. But seriously, if you're reading this, leave a comment. I'm not writing this shiz just to read my own words! ...Actually, I probably am. THAT MATTERS NONE.

When I was taking a picture of my epic shirt the other day, I dropped my crap-o-camera and terminally ruined the lens. Not a big tragedy, though, cuz I might get another one for my birfday.

Over spring break I went to Oregon, slept, and unraveled my shirt.

tee - UO, jeans - UO, shoes - oregon

but then...

new chucks!
Last but not least, I'm working on a new blog.

wait, this too

Oh wait sorry remember that post I made forever ago (yesterday) about how I'm going on hiatus? Yeah about that... I forgot to put these up before I said those things I said. After this, the break shall occur.

OK so I ordered this purse from Itsumi a while ago and I got it last month, but haven't had time to share its glory with your peevish eyes.

Since I don't have the stalking skills to hunt down designer purses, this original channel look-alike is ideal para me. She HAND-KNITTED this shiz herself, I suggest you check out her store, too.

BEHOLD the glory of its professionally packaged, squeaky clean wonder:
Tu eres mi amor, bolsa de mis dreams.
She also put in a cheeky note:

Obviously, this illin Michael Jackson sticker is enough to tell you that she knows her shit.

What's this, some outfits with the amazing knitted wonder?

cardigan - vintage, t-shirt - target, jeans - marc by marc, flats - target, purse- ITSUMI!
Kat and I have agreed that this outfit is very Foux de Fafa (Flight of the Conchords, dumdum, do the math)

cut up hanes t-shirt, jeans - UO, heels - target

gold bracelets and watch - vintage, stack rings - Japan...?
All in all I have to say this purse is treating me well. Itsumi has a killer blog and maybe if you order from her you'll also get a personalized note
ps - I just got the heels pictured at target: unflawed rip-offs? Who told you? not me.
I think I might actually where them to school.
FINALLY, I'm done with this post, now on hiatus?

in which i'm really cold

Last weekend I went to Park City, Utah with the "family" for a "family vacation".
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for family vacations, but not on weekends and not when I have to miss school. Other requirements, I bring a friend and am not tempted by beautiful tourist spots.

Park City is beautiful and lovely and blah bluhblah blah, but it's also a HUMONGOUS tourist town! (Sundance film festival, winter olympics, hot snowboarder guys: plenty of attractions)

It's just that I despise that feeling of being in a place I love, but feeling like things would be alot more enjoyable if I wasn't a tourist, which is what I am anywhere out side of the Bay. Probably doesn't help that my family looks as Jew as they come, so we didn't really fit into the mormon-chic culture.
Unfortunately my camera is all "blaaa you drop me all the time and I'm sick of it, you hurrr me? Sick. Of. It," It won't be my friend and take pictures, so I only have a few slightly usable ones.*

Whatever, it was fun. You want pictures, right?

"This is how intense"
Ummm yeah, so I'm guessing that you're thinking "oooh dayum I do NOT want to mess with this crazy mutha. She looks like she can shred on those slopes like a demon panther out of hell!"
Seriously, python leggings? You betcha I mean business. I mean so much business that after 6 years of boarding I fell so hard on my ass on a green run that I had to call it quits the rest of the day. No, no, no, not for my sake, but for the safety of the mountain.
OK, I'm really tired and probably won't have a chance to post in the next week. L'chayim!
*actually only 1 picture, my camera is on the fritz and I'm not willing to share the family portrait (yiiich)

Bigger than guns, bigger than cigarettes

Next winter you know I'm gonna be rocking these. Days and days of making them myself? probably not, but it'll be on my mind. (the fabric is in your miiiind)

Fall collections usually aren't my favorite because I like bright flowery prints more, but these are better than satisfactory.

Ruffian Acne

I really like this new embroidered tights-as-a-bodysuit thing, and I would definitely wear those see through jeans if I had model legs. But in the winter? Feh, who's legs would not be so ghostly pale that they'd have to go tanning before wearing them?

Alexander Wang Christopher Kane

Basically, I like shiny things and black: this is perfect. Also, I like shear. I mean I really, really like shear. (I mean when there's something underneath to covers ups the bits and pieces)
But shear is a good thing. Acutally, I'm going down to Joanne's right now to buy myself some shear chiffon for my chiffarobe where I'll shelves shoes and sheeps' sheddings.

Peter Som Jak&Jill or Facehunter?

Ooooh hot damn, I do love some nonsensical combining. Psychedellic printing and faux fur, the two things I hold so dear in this crazy mixed up world? How did you know, Peter Som? You dirty son-of-a-pig mind reader.

And those shoes? I'm going to have to diy it up in this motha. Googly eyes, sequins, rhinestones, and paint: meet your maker.

I know and it annoys me

VINTAGE OVERLOAD.

Recently my drama teacher has taken initiative on cleaning out the costume department that has been growing exponentially in the last 30-40 years.
On Saturday I went to help with the clean-up, which consisted of sorting clothes into a pile of clothes to throw away, several piles to give away, clothes to be sold, and clothes that had to be put back.

From this, I acted a garbage collector and took home a truckload of clothes. (yes, I did take from the throw-away pile)

Anyways I now have lots o' lucious vintage. Ariel was also there. She found a box of sequined sailor costumes and wore it the whole time we were there. She looked exactly like Sailor Moon, but with black hair and more like a human being.

I gave 1/3 of it to Gato because I can't break up with most of it. But I'm really happy with everything and even better, it was FREE, that's right crazy dogggz, free!

(Click click click camera them to make them bigger)

Leather jacket - UO, Ho down dress - Drama give-away, DIY converse

Square dance Ho-down style CALL TO ACTION. Bringing back some good ol' timey flavor.

Navy jumper - drama give-away, belt - mom's vintage, shoes- vintage Charles Jourdan

Skirt - Drama give-away, shirt - AA, necklace - Fredflare

Psychedellic skirt - lovin' it! It's the perfect length to wear long with heels, or alter up and inch for sandals - or should I shorten it to make a mini? Decisions...

Lace dress - Drama for sale section

I couldn't get any good pictures of it, but this dress is my favorite thing I got. Even though it was on one of the for-sale racks, I got it fo free sucka! Not stealing, just payment for helping organize.

Green dress - drama give-away

Hello lover.

50's Prom dress - Drama give-away

Boxers w/ suspenders - drama Throw-away pile, shirt - AA, shoes - drama throw-away
*thanks thank you thanks to Lauren

I think I'm going to turn these boxers into a skirt

There's also the stuff I gave to Gato and the stuff I didn't picture:
- gold wonder woman belt
- pair grey suede pumpls
- pair black leather sandal wedges
- sequined sailor costume
- green striped taffeta skirt
- fuschia cotton dress
- grey, white, pink cotton sundress
- yacht club sweater

It was a pretty good collection this time. Still debating whether or not I'll buy anything on the annual springtime Haight-Ashbury vintage outing.

Also I'm still trying to find ways to modernize all the great vintage I got from my granpere and his wife.

mystic Madame Rose

On Friday night Mr. Boddy was murdered in his mansion and it was up to us novelty characters to solve the mystery of who murdered him with what in which room? (ummm...ever heard the game of clue?)
Mayhem.Mystery.Murderrrrr.
My character was Madame Rose - a fraud from Medonia who is also rich Thellura in World of Warcraft.

dress - mom's vintage Moschino

Best.Dress.Ever....except for the part about the red lips peeling off.

Gato = Mrs. Peacock. Perhaps the most elusive character with hidden intentions.

bracelets - vintage, ring - grandpa's vintage
The charm bracelets used to be my grandma's that my grandpa gave to her. The charms on it boggle the mind: mini-hour glass, horse-shoe, bell, penny, etc...
The ring was my grandfather's too.

Hey story time! I walked into my room in the wee hours last night and a wonderous sight beheld my eyes: vintage up the wazoo! My mom brought home a bunch of stuff my grandpa's wife was getting rid of. I got stuff that was hers, my grandpa's, and her daughter's.

Isreali army shirt, gangsta!

So what I got
1 - dress/suit combo
2 - fur wraps
4 - shirts
2 - wool biking jerseys
4 - sweaters
1 - housedress
1 - porkpie hat

pretty good score, heh?

Mundo Espiritu / leathuh

Ghost World was on the tube the other day. Minus her penchant for geeky older men, Edith is da Bomb, yo. Yeah, Scarlett Johansson is ok blah blah blah

Random colors + short skirts + black frame glasses + bat mask = good call

I like how she likes to dress in ways that make no sense, then they do. Punk suits the character. Not that I'm an expert who dabbles in punk culture, but know enough of the history and music to know what it means to not give a fuck. Lately, alot of people dress in a style they think to be "punk", meaning a leather jacket they put a patch on or their own original take on it which usually translates to something plad with fur trim. THAT AINT PUNK scumteeth. Do you even know what punk is? If you did you would know that it is pretty much dead, and then you all would stop wearing those ironic t-shirts proclaiming that it's not.

En pointe - if I were to dress punk I would def copy Edith:

Green hair, tatty t-shirt, leather jacket, black on white creepers.

E - God. How can you stand all these assholes?
R - Some people are OK... but mostly I just feel like poisoning everybody.

I haven't meant to, but recently I've been wearing my leathuuuh jacket pretty much errday, so I have a lot of pictures of it. As a result, I've decided no more pictures of it, the overload is strangling its glory.

Here I present the leather jacket swan song:

jacket - UO, dress- vintage, shoes - Rite Aid
I feel like this look and the next look are slightly lightly influenced by Ghost World, but not too obviously.
collared shirt - vintage, tie-dye pants - DIY, converse - DIY
Favorite outfit, te amo mucho.

top - Thakoon for target, dress - AA, croc bag - thrift
OH YES finals are almost over, just an in-class essay and drama monologue left. Except it started raining again. DAMN YOU mother nature.
next post gonna be super, awesome, very cool, I want to read it, yeah!

dream wardrobe

Ever since I went to the YSL exhibit at the De Young last weekend, I've had the extraordinary ensembles running through my head.

His sketch:

The rest of the pictures I stole from Style Bubble

From the 70's. At first I thought this one was from a modern collection. It seems like it was from a line that must have inspired Galliano.

"Knitted wedding dress". Oh wait SNAP this is exactly what I would want to wear... duh.

Oh I want I want

My favorite, so purrrty in person

past few days

Outfits and thangs from the past few days. On Sunday I went to the De Young with my little mamasita. (that's my mother, you perv, she's small)

And WHAT, might you ask, did we see there? Hrrrm, maybe something such as the best thing my eyes have ever beheld! We went to see the Yves Saint Laurent retrospective exhibit and it was to die for. Like a dog to a snausage, I was salivating at the amazing outfits that dated from the present back to the 60's.

Sadly, photography was NOT ALLOWED. so I'll make a post later with pictures from the web of my favorite pieces.

Later we went to the top of the observational tower:

leather jacket - UO, powder blue oxford - vintage, tan bag - H&M

It was a really beautiful day: clear skies, spring weather, sunshine.

"Hey San Francisco, can you see meh?"

YESTERDAY:
was over 70 degrees all up in my grill.
January is now a time to wear shorts (Thanks global warming, I owe you one!)

cardigan - target, muscle shirt - thrift, shorts - DIY, open chucks - DIY, bojangles bracelets

Something I must admit: I FREAKIN LOVE MY SHIRT

Bojangles bracelets=

If I ever refer to Bojangles bracelets, I mean this combination or similar.

GIMME THE DEETS, MENG:

I cut these up last spring. This was taken over my patio, but doesn't it look like my foots in front of a backdrop? This is either artsy or just shitty camera quality.

I have Jealosy over these

I saved this picture a long time ago, I think it came from Jak&Jil
